We are excited to announce that a new art mural created by artist Alistair Lambert, in collaboration with year-5 pupils from the nearby Tufnell Park School, is now being displayed on the hoardings at Holloway Prison.
Alistair’s work is rooted in collaboration, working with the community on a number of public art projects across London.
The mural, funded by Peabody, was inspired by the legacy of the prison and the flourishing wild plants that now populate the abandoned site.
Earlier this year, Alistair worked with pupils over a 4-day period to create collages that responded to this theme. A collection of the pupils’ collages were included in the mural, creating a unique piece of public art that celebrates the built and natural forms that define the prison.
